Took an overnight bus last weekend, driving through the unrelenting flat landscape of La Pampas (literally Plains) surrounding Buenos Aires to the Ventania mountain range and joined a group of Argentines walking the 3 Peaks.
We set out as soon as we arrived at 7 in the morning, taking it pretty easy and settled into a cavern tucked between the folds of the mountain range by afternoon. Aparently the range was created by the slow collision of two subcontinental plates which crumpled the rock upwards out of the plains.
